Adopt a Garden

The Adopt a Garden Project is delivered in partnership with Nubian Life Resource Centre with the generous funding of the National Lottery Community Fund. In the south part of the borough, Fulham Good Neighbours id matching dedicated volunteers with older people in Fulham who need help in managing their gardens and who would benefit from a social visit from a volunteer. In the north of the borough, Nubian Life is providing gardening workshops for local residents interested in learning more about gardening and meeting new people.

Together we aim to bring older people and communities closer together, to increase their wellbeing and address the growing demand in gardening services and social inclusion.

The Adopt a Garden with Fulham Good Neighbours serves those local older residents who:

- are unable to clear gardens by themselves and have no one else to ask for this help

- would benefit from receiving a monthly visit from a volunteer

- have gardens that need basic maintenance and care (for more complex gardens please see our Gardening service)

Digital Inclusion

The Digital Inclusion Project aims to match volunteers with older people who wish to learn how to use the Internet. Our friendly volunteers will visit people at home and help with things like: making a free Skype call to a relative abroad, doing online shopping, using tablets or smart phones and much more.

There is no prescribed course schedule, each person decides what they want to learn and the one-to-one meetings are tailored to individual needs and interests. For further details please see our poster.

To make a referral or learn more about this project by contacting Lucia at: luciaciolanel@fulhamgoodneighbours.org or 020 7385 8850.

Social Club Rules

Social Club Rules:

  • Our clubs are for over 60-year-olds.
  • If you attend Fulham Lunch Club, please do not attend Fulham Sunday Afternoon Tea (and vice versa). An exception is made for volunteers who help with the Fulham Lunch Club.
  • Please attend only one of the Silver Clubs on a consistent basis.
  • Please always book in advance if you want to attend a Silver Club and cancel if you are no longer able to. This frees your place for someone else.
  • If you require support to get to any of our clubs, please talk to us. We can help you apply for Dial a Ride or Taxi Card and in exceptional circumstances will cover your transport costs.

The above rules are created for the purpose of the highest possible number of people benefiting from our clubs. Your feedback on them and improvement suggestions are greatly appreciated.
