Originally from Birmingham, Cathy has lived in Fulham for the past forty years. She has a professional background in nursing, foreign language interpreting and journalism on The Times newspaper. Cathy then spent some years as a full-time mother during which time she did some voluntary work, including participating in a speech therapy programme at Charing Cross Hospital for recovering stroke victims. She have also taken responsibility for caring for elderly parents and other family members with mental problems including dementia.
Cathy joined Fulham Good Neighbours in 2006 as Groupwork Leader, running the Gardening and Decorating Project, which happily combined my desire to care for others with a passion for gardening and an interest in interior design.
The project has greatly expanded during my time with FGN and we now employ a gardener and a decorator, so her focus is now on the organizational aspects of the project, assessing clients and promoting volunteer input in our gardening work.
Chris joined as Director in March 2016. Prior to that, he managed an Age UK Day Centre. He is trustee of an almshouse and grant making charity and a member of the Chartered Managment Institute,
This is my third year working for Fulham Good Neighbours as the Gardening Project Leader.
I love the combination of meeting people and helping them enjoy their garden.
